Absolute Pilates is the most established and fully equipped studio using top-of-the-line Gratz & Pilates Designs by Basil apparatus built from the original design and mechanics of Joseph Pilate’s own equipment. Our state-of-the-art studio features 18 foot ceilings, spacious waiting area, comfy dressing rooms. THE ULTIMATE WORKOUT
Pilates is a method that trains the mind and body to work together toward the goal of overall physical fitness. Each exercise is done in a particular sequence, with a minimum number of repetitions and a high degree of precision and mental focus. Pilates exercises are more effective than other types of exercise because they work several muscle groups at the same time. The movements stretch one muscle group while strengthening another, and require a great deal of abdominal control. Other forms of exercise and athletic activities develop strength in the arms and legs but largely ignore the core because these muscles are difficult to isolate and strengthen. In Pilates, all movements are initiated from the core and the result is a totally toned body.
THE HISTORY OF PILATES
Joseph Hubertus Pilates, one of the great pioneers of modern physical fitness and health, was a visionary in his approach and methodology. By combining the best of Western and Eastern philosophy, he brought together a series of controlled movements that engage both the mind and body. His exercises allow each user to experience a new awareness of muscle function and control.

Today there is an ever increasing popularity for the Pilates Method. Joseph Pilates predicted his method would continue to gain recognition beyond his lifetime, and it has, with the help of Romana Kryzanowka. Romana Kryzanowski was Joseph Pilate’s protege, and has been teaching his original philosophy of movements since 1941. She has been the “Force” behind the genius. Thanks to her, the Pilates method did not die and Absolute Pilates is proud to carry the torch of exceptional Romana’s Pilates certified teachers.

Kristin’s fascination with human movement and athletics inspired her field of study at UW- Eau Claire. After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, Kristin worked as a personal trainer at a local health club where she discovered the ultimate total body workout, Pilates. Kristin pursued a Romana’s Pilates Certification in 2004 from Romana Kryzanowska, heir to Joseph Pilates work. Eternally a student, Kristin attends conferences, workshops, and lessons from leveled teachers to further her knowledge and experience. She also works closely with local physical therapists, chiropractors, and doctors to provide the best care for clients looking to move forward from injury or simply in need of general body conditioning. Kristin has conducted workshops for sport specific workouts and has experience working with young athletes and dancers. Teaching the Pilates method is her life’s passion, because Kristin has seen it improve and transform lives. Each and every body walking through the door of her studio has a unique story to tell, and when that body exits, Kristin ensures it walks out into the world stronger and healthier.

Passionate and committed to helping her clients live better in their bodies, Joy leads dynamic group classes and teaches individualized private lessons. Always enamored with movement for both its physical and mental benefits, she practiced various mind/body modalities over the years, including running, yoga, and martial arts. Upon taking her first classical Pilates class, she immediately recognized its life-changing benefits, and knew that she had found a life-long endeavor. Embracing the discipline it demanded and its focus on full-body, functional movement, Joy pursued her 950 hour Advanced Teaching Certificate under the tutelage of Debra Orlando, licensed teacher trainer for The Pilates Center, and Level III Franklin Method Educator. She continues to further her understanding of Pilates and body mechanics by studying and practicing extensively, attending workshops and exchanging knowledge with others.

For more than 40 years healthy living has been Brenda’s passion and lifelong commitment to herself and her family. Determined to meet the challenge of providing a healthy and balanced life for her family, she immersed herself into learning everything she could about health, fitness, and nutrition. As with any true passion in life, Brenda found herself wanting to share these benefits with others and pursued a Personal Training Certification(W.I.T.S.) working at gyms, hospitals, and clinics. She is a certified health coach through Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and worked many years as a Physical Therapist Aide helping to rehabilitate injuries and physical imbalances. Brenda discovered Pilates in the late 1980’s and recently completed a rigorous advanced teacher training program with Master Teacher Debbie Orlando through the Pilates Center of Boulder program in Milwaukee. Brenda’s greatest pride and joy is the fact that she has the opportunity to share her knowledge of how to live a healthier and happier life through the amazing and effective techniques of Pilates.
All Absolute Pilates instructors have completed the most rigorous 700 + hour training program and extensive testing required to receive certification as Romana’s Pilates Instructors. Our quality of instruction continues even after certification as all teachers advance their education by regularly taking lessons, attending workshops and participating in continuing professional education seminars with master- level teachers.
